Easy account management with e-services

Manage your accounts anytime, online and from your mobile phone. Whether logging into your account with e-Teller or with a smart phone, you can

  • Check account balances
  • Review account activity
  • Transfer funds
  • Make loan payments
  • Pay bills

With a regular mobile phone, you can check account balances and history through text messaging.

You can also set up email and text alerts, allowing you to set alerts on your accounts. These alerts can be sent via email or text, notifying you of balances, withdrawals, payments and more.

And don’t forget to sign up for e-Statements through your e-Teller access. Electronic statements include a monthly summary of your account activity. You receive them more quickly and securely than traditional paper statements that may arrive up to a week later due to processing and mail delivery.

Just log on to e-Teller, click on the Self Service tab, then select e-Statements to sign up. Not yet an e-Teller user? Call us today to get signed up for this free, convenient way to access your account information online.

We have joined the shared branching network, and share in over 6,400 branch locations so you can conduct financial transactions where you live, work or travel. No matter where you may be on the road, your credit union is now as close as the nearest CU Service Centers® location.

With so many convenient locations, you will be able to access your credit union account even if you travel or relocate hundreds of miles. Your membership and accounts remain with us, but you can access your account and conduct business at any of the 6,400+ convenient branch locations.

Anywhere you see the swirl you can conduct a range of transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, or purchase money orders, travelers checks and official checks.

To take advantage of this service, when you enter a shared branch you only need to bring your home credit union’s name, your account number, and a valid government-issued photo identification, such as State Driver’s license or US Passport.

The federal deficit, combined with ongoing attempts by the bankers’ associations, has lawmakers eyeing the tax-exempt status that has helped 1st MidAmerica and thousands of other credit unions provide a secure place for your finances since 1934.

As a part of the credit union, you are a part of a not-for-profit financial cooperative, just like 96 million other Americans who are members of credit unions nationwide. And while we may offer services similar to a bank, there are important differences:

  • Banks exist to make a profit for shareholders. Not-for-profit credit unions invest profits back into the cooperative, offering more favorable rates and fewer fees. The difference is substantial, amounting to more than $100 per household each year!
  • Our members are our owners, and you are the ones who benefit from credit union earnings: through lower loan rates, better than market dividends, convenient service, and the many programs that we offer to enhance your financial lives.
  • At 1st MidAmerica, and other credit unions across the country, board members believe so strongly in the credit union cause that they serve as volunteers!
  • Credit unions do pay taxes. We pay property taxes on each of our buildings to support local schools, libraries, fire departments, police, and other necessities. We also pay payroll and sales taxes. But not-for-profit organizations do not pay a federal tax on earnings, because our profits are continually cycled back into the credit union to benefit you, our owners. It’s been that way since Congress passed the credit union act in 1934—the year 1st MidAmerica was founded.

Protect yourself against fraud

Fraudsters are always in full attack mode and are prowling for unsuspecting victims. Here are a few tips to help keep your money and identity protected.

  • Monitor your financial statements and online banking regularly. Review transactions for purchases or anything out of the ordinary.
  • Beware of downloading sneaky apps. Smartphone applications may allow access to your personal information, messages, contacts, email, or photos. Be sure to read the privacy policy of each application before downloading and know what information you’ll be sharing.
  • Be vigilant when responding to special holiday offers, especially online. Know who you’re dealing with and avoid suspicious websites. And always be cautious when providing personal information for purchases.

Keep saving with Sprint

Verify Your Credit Union Membership to Keep Saving with Sprint 1st MidAmerica is pleased to offer monthly wireless discounts to our members with the Sprint Credit Union Member Discount. If you’re already enjoying the savings from this Invest in America program, we want to make sure you continue to do so. Periodically, Sprint needs participants to verify eligibility so they can receive the discount and waived activation fees. If you’re planning on signing up for the Sprint Credit Union Member Discount, you’ll need to verify eligibility as well.

New Sprint Customers: You need to verify membership within 30 days of activation.

Current Sprint Customers: You need to provide proof of discount eligibility (credit union membership) when you upgrade your device if it has been 20 or more months since you last validated.

Members can now verify credit union membership using the free Invest in America app with its simple and secure verification process. And it takes just a few minutes to complete.
